Coach & Program Facilitator – Casual (16-22 hours per week)

Location: West Perth

Hours: 8:45am - 1pm weekdays (Thursday to begin later in the year).

Sisterup is a social enterprise providing health & wellbeing programs and services to women with disability, focusing on our four pillars of Health, Relationships, Community and Learning. Sisterup is part of the broader Buddiup Group, which includes its brother organisation, Buddiup that provides the same opportunities to men with disability.

Position Description

The Sisterup Coach plays a vital role in leading the physical activity and education in our Step Up Program, ensuring they are structured to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants. They design and facilitate physical activities tailored to individuals with intellectual and learning disabilities, promoting engagement and personal growth. In addition, they deliver health and wellbeing content from the Step Up Program, maintaining alignment with the organisation’s health and wellbeing framework. Working alongside Mentors, the Coach oversees the sessions, ensuring effective facilitation while Mentors provide individualised participant support.

Experience in the disability sector and qualifications in a relevant field will be preferred but not mandatory. More importantly, we are looking for a new team member who is keen to get involved in human and care services, who is a team player, self-starter, and quick learner.

Key responsibilities of this role

  • Plan and Execute Program Activities: Lead the design, organisation, and delivery of engaging health and wellbeing sessions tailored to participants' needs.

    Facilitate Group Programs: Conduct structured activities in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, ensuring participants feel supported and encouraged.

    Promote a Supportive Atmosphere: Foster open communication, build trust, and encourage active participation among all individuals.

    Ensure Inclusivity and Well-Being: Uphold a respectful and positive space where all participants feel valued, safe, and empowered to take part.

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment: Everyone who walks into Sisterup should feel welcome and have a sense of belonging

  • Role Model: This role will set and maintain the high standard we have for our team of mentors, and be a role model of healthy decision making for many of our participants

  • Continuous Improvement: Be on the lookout for opportunities to improve the way we do things and then help make it happen

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certificate III Fitness

  • Certificate IV Fitness – desirable

  • First Aid

  • Working with Children’s Check

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module

  • Hand Hygiene for Non-Clinical Health Care Workers

  • Basics of Infection Prevention and Control Orientation Module

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in facilitating group-based fitness and physical activity programs desirable

  • Working with people with intellectual and learning disabilities an advantage
